Nicole Surovcek
President, Founding Member

Nicole Surovcek is the founder of Piano & More and creator of the Piano & More teaching model. Ms Surovcek will be leading on the board as president and will continue to teach piano students and contribute in administrative roles for the organization. She has a BS and MS in Health Promotions and Nutrition and has always been heavily involved in music and performance. She believes that life's purpose is to build community and has seen how music can easily connect others. Learning music can be fun and she has proven that there is progress in teaching music by incorporating games and catering the lesson to the student. She's built a community of musicians but wants to extend these services to others who cannot always afford to be apart of it. Here's to building a greater and more diverse musical community.
Moonhee Doan
Treasurer, Founding Member

Moonhee Doan serves as the Treasurer for Piano & More. She has her Bachelors degree in Psychology
and her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University.
Mrs. Doan is currently a licensed teacher for Fairfax County. In the beginning of her
teaching career, Mrs. Doan was nominated by her school principal for the George Mason
University Exemplary Early Career Teacher Award. Through her years of teaching at
schools with a high needs population, Mrs. Doan has a passion for teaching and truly
believes in providing opportunities for underprivileged students to become
successful. Her mission is to teach her students the skills necessary to focus on working
hard to learn and authentically apply it to the real-world.
Melissa Cortina Rush
Secretary, Founding Member

Melissa Rush serves as the Secretary for Piano & More. She has a Bachelors degree in Elementary
Education and Spanish from James Madison University. Mrs. Rush is currently a Dual
Language Immersion teacher for Harrisonburg City Public Schools. Mrs. Rush has a
passion for language education and for serving the needs of culturally diverse student
populations. Through her years working with high needs, culturally diverse populations,
Mrs. Rush has developed a mission to serve the community and provide them with
responsive, relevant education.
Leslie Tucker
Co-Chair Development Committee, founding member

Leslie Tucker is the co-chair of the development committee for Piano & More.
Ms. Tucker started her career in New York in book and magazine publishing.
The last five years in New York were spent in the editorial offices
at Rolling Stone magazine. She left publishing to learn broadcast journalism in the
Philippines. As a field producer for CNN International, Ms. Tucker produced news in
southeast Asia from Manila to Jakarta. She went on to teach western style economic news
across 9 time zones and 30 regions of the Russian Federation in 1994, a few years after
the collapse of the Soviet Union. Ms. Tucker lived in Moscow, Russia, for almost two
decades. Currently she is working on a nonfiction book about the Wesorts of Maryland, a
dying tribe of triracial isolates who have intermarried for more than 300 years. She
received her bachelor of arts degree in English Literature and Theater from Princeton
University. She believes in sharing information and skills with all cultures. The better the
quality of news and information we all have, the better our world.
